Knights and Butterscotch by Faith Ashlin
A story of modern-day knights, paint-splattered artists and a lightning bolt of attraction that hits hard enough to make a knight think he's going crazy. And then things get complicated.
The year is now, the place is somewhere like here but the feeling is very different. Matti Elkin is a modern-day knight and, while he may not have a horse or a suit of shining armour, he's brave and true, has a sense of duty and honour a mile wide and a passionate belief in his king.
There's a war on and the knights are fighting hard, but while on R&R Matti is hit hard with an overwhelming attraction for Jamie, a tall, handsome painter.
Jamie makes his head spin and his cock harden, and has him acting in ways that make him question his own sanity. But when the war takes an appalling turn, they are both thrown into a world of confusion that has them questioning everything they thought they knew.

About the Author
When Faith was clearing out her attic many years ago, she found a book she’d written as a ten-year-old. On rereading it she realised that it was the love story of two boys. Over the years her fascination with the image of beautiful young men, coiled together as they fell head over heels in love, became a passion for her.

Enjoyed this read. The story is driven by the interactions between the main characters. There are other things going on that while they affect the relationship don't overshadow the relationship.I liked the characters. A lot of back and forth and getting to know each other. They were not stereotypes and had distinct identities.
Again, I really enjoyed this read.

Knights and Butterscotch edition by Faith Ashlin Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
What is a better beginning of a book than a thunderbolt and hot sex? I must admit it caught my attention, but even that wouldn’t have been enough to keep my interest if there hadn’t been a good story. The book Knights & Buttescotch presents a love story of two beautiful men caught in the middle of events in which they both play an important role. The war itself, even when it suddenly disrupts the relative peace in Jamie’s and Matti’s lives (maybe not Matti’s so much, but definitely Jamie’s) and the routine of their occasional meetings, creates just the background. The whole story evolves around the relationship of Matti and Jamie and its gradual development. The story is full of emotions love, passion, joy, fear, doubts, and sadness – all of them mixed skillfully into a delicious cocktail that warms heart and makes reading this book a true joyful ride.
I loved this book. It had only about 30 seconds of angst and otherwise it was warm and lighthearted. I really liked both MC and even though it's a fantasy world their relationship credible. There is insta -lust that rapidly becomes love. I would have liked a little more backstory for them and thid is the only reason I'm not giving it the whole 5 stars.
