Maddie and Robert Davis are living the dream. Ensconced in a beautiful converted Spanish farmhouse and working in luxury real estate on the exclusive Mediterranean island of Ibiza, they are providing their two young daughters with an idyllic lifestyle. Their life is almost perfect and they are happier than they have ever been. But all is not as it seems in The Red House. Following a series of mysterious events centered around Maddie, she becomes the victim of a tragic accident at the villa's pool. With a severe head injury she fades into unconsciousness only to find herself awakening in the care of people she has never met, in a place that seems at the same time strange but vaguely familiar. Where is she and why are her family nowhere to be found? In a blind panic and with no recollection of the accident Maddie persuades herself she must be in the midst of a lucid nightmare. It is only when she is presented with incontrovertible evidence that she realises she is further from her home and loved ones than she could possibly imagine. So begins a nerve wracking and emotional journey as she tries desperately to find her way back to her beloved family and the life she misses so much. But this new world has a purpose for her which she is yet to understand. Can she unearth the secrets of the Red House and so return to her family, or is she already too late?

The Kindle version was filled with grammatical mistakes, most notably the lack of possessive apostrophes, or the incorrect use of them. The story itself was quite compelling, but the ending felt a little rushed and not resolved to my liking.Product details

The Red House Twilight Edge eBook Jennifer Allan Reviews
Thoroughly enjoyed this book! Not my usual genre, but I didn't want it to finish! It is very well written and the Island was well described (living on Ibiza I could picture all the places the author wrote about) Without giving away any spoilers I think the author needs to write a sequel following on from Maddie's story to show what happened to the other characters from the time Maddie was "away" from her family. Well Done Jennifer, look forward to reading more from you!
This was a fantastic read and a real page turner from the outset. The descriptions of places and locations is very detailed and accurate and you are quickly taken by the characters in the book on a real journey in vivid detail.
The story itself is a tale of mystery not only for the lead character Maddie but for all those around her. You are caught up with the story and the emotions as the book develops which is down to the fantastic descriptive writing that adorns each page and makes you want to binge read until the end.
I would highly recommend this book to all those that like a good mystery and I cannot wait from more from this author.
Great book. Love the time travel aspect. Hope there will be a sequel cause the ending was quite aburpt. We shall see what the author has in mind.
The version was filled with grammatical mistakes, most notably the lack of possessive apostrophes, or the incorrect use of them. The story itself was quite compelling, but the ending felt a little rushed and not resolved to my liking.
